If there is one thing that Dallas ladies are known for, it’s hair! While we both love our voluminous styles, Lolli and I achieve our looks in different ways.

A traditionalist at heart, Lolli styles her hair with tried-and-true Conair Hot Rollers after washing with Pureology shampoo and conditioner. Hot rollers create volume and curl, allowing hair to set for a long-lasting finish. Lolli sprays her look with a yellow bottle of faithful Final Net hairspray to hold volume and protect it from our Texas humidity. I remember Lolli using this hairspray on me as a little girl when I would beg her to curl my hair. It has been a cosmetic staple in our home for decades!
Like Lolli, I love my hair styled with loose curls and some volume- but I don’t always have the time for multiple steps! A friend taught me how to use a Chi ceramic flat iron to quickly add curl to my ends, recreating a fresh blow-out look a la Kate Middleton. Then, I add Oribe texturizing spray at the roots for a bit of lift, and VOILA, Y’ALL™!
My new, go-to product in the shower is New Wash by the creator of Bumble & Bumble. This product is a shampoo and conditioner in one, but it doesn’t weigh hair down! Formulated without harsh synthetic detergents that strip hair of natural moisture, New Wash cleanses and repairs hair with essential oils and naturally derived cleansers like aloe, peppermint oil, and jojoba. Although it’s tough to get used to a shampoo without the lather, my hair feels healthier than ever before, and I don’t have to wash it as often! As a busy mom, being able to skip washes is a huge lifesaver. While Lolli opts for hairspray, I reach for dry shampoo to add volume and extend my style!
