A Karate Kid’s Ninja-Themed Birthday Party

One of our littles turned five and requested a “ninja” birthday party, so we asked the studio where he takes karate lessons to host. Upon receiving the invitation, his friends were all excited to be a ninja for the day! A teacher from the karate studio taught the kids basic martial arts forms, led a few group games, and the birthday boy even got to “break a board” at the end of the lesson in front of all his friends. The kids were supervised and well-entertained, so the parents got to enjoy themselves over cake and refreshments as they watched the fun.

In keeping with the karate theme, we used ninja cups and straws the kids could take home and passed out inflatable ninja swords as party favors with an attachment that said “Thanks for KICKING it with me!” A local bakery made a three-tiered cake to match the invitation and party favors, tied with a fondant black belt.
