10 Trends for Spring

Warmer weather is just around the corner, y’all, and that means it’s time for spring fashion! Lolli and I aren’t swayed by seasonal fads, but we do like incorporating an occasional trend into our classic wardrobes to add new twists to regular staples. From color blocking to creative pattern mixing and chic, top-handle bags, here are some spring trends to keep your eye on this season:

1. Color-Blocking and Sorbet Solids

Make a statement this spring with impactful color-blocked styles. Whether you prefer pastels or bright colors, you may be able to incorporate this trend into your spring outfits without making a single purchase – just pair up your favorite colored pants or skirt with a similar (or completely opposite) solid color.

2. Patterns and Textures

Don’t be afraid to mix and match as many textures as possible this season! Dainty florals, ikat, tropical prints, and classic polka dots have made a comeback, and with it new possibilities for pattern pairing. I got a jump on this trend with the patterned outfit I wore to Valentine’s Day dinner last week!

3. Head-to-Toe Neutrals

Neutral tones, particularly khakis and creams, are everywhere this season – perhaps as a contrast to the bold prints and patterns flooding the stores. Serving as a perfect transition from winter to spring, top those winter whites with your favorite earth-tone trench for a fresh and understated spring look. You can always accessorize with a pop of color in your accessories or a tie on a scarf!

4. Statement Sleeves

Talk about a trend WHERE THE GENERATIONS MEET™ – Lolli remembers when big sleeves were all the rage back in the ’80’s! From balloon sleeves to feathery textures, there are plenty of ways to make a statement with fun sleeve styles this season!

Suits aren’t just for the office any more. Dress them up or dress them down for any occasion, from business meetings to cocktail parties. And think beyond the basic black with patterns, jewel tones, and neutral colors.

We love how designers have delved into the details of footwear this season, adding new flair to the classic heel of any shoe type with a structural and artistic re-design.

7. Square-Toed Shoes

Pointed shoes may be a constant classic when it comes to footwear trends, but it only seems fair to bring square-toed shoes back in the limelight! These seem more comfortable for those who like the look. There is an abundance of square-toed shoe styles in stores this season, from strappy sandals to easy mules, and here are a few that caught my eye:

8. White Boots

This winter white trend is here to stay! Make a seamless transition from winter to spring with crisp white footwear. You’ll be surprised how versatile a pair of booties can be with sundresses, skinny jeans, leggings and tunics! Here are some picks for the warmer seasons ahead:

9. Micro Bags

We can’t talk about runway looks without bringing up the tiniest trend of all: micro bags. These miniature purses were teased by all the top designers at fashion week last fall, and we’re curious to see them make their way into the general market. I’m inspired to try out this subtle statement trend, and little Liza will happily inherit these investments when they go out of style (perfect for a little lip balm and some tiny toys!).

We should be seeing many smaller bags this spring inspired by the micro bags of the runway, particularly in bright colors and unique shapes:

10. Top-Handle Bags

Last but not least, top-handle bags are another spring trend we’re seeing everywhere. If you love the micro trend but are looking for something a little more functional for daily use, these top-handle bags combine the best of both trends:
